Form W-7
ITIN applications
Need an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number so you can file? We prepare the W-7, file it with your return, and tell you which documents the IRS requires.
New applications & renewals
What we handle
Who it covers
- You, your spouse, and your dependents
- First-time applications
- Renewals of an expired ITIN
How it is filed
- The W-7 and your tax return go to the IRS together as one package
- We tell you exactly which documents to gather before you start
- A W-7 is signed on paper, and we walk you through getting it to the IRS
In two languages
- Everything explained in English or Spanish
- We do not rush the document conversation — it is the part people get wrong
- Call and ask before you commit to anything
About your original documents
A new ITIN application requires original documents — usually a passport. You have three ways to satisfy that, and we'll walk you through which one fits your situation:
- Mail the originals to the IRS with your application. They are returned to you.
- Take them to an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center and have them verified in person, so nothing gets mailed.
- Use a Certified Acceptance Agent, who can certify your documents without mailing them.
We are not a Certified Acceptance Agent. If that turns out to be the better route for you, we will say so and point you to one — we would rather send you to the right place than have you mail your passport.
